With a scale of 58,000m 2 , the world 2 nd largest hardware show 2005 China Int'l Hardware Show (CIHS) will take place on Oct.11~13, 2005 in Shanghai New International EXPO Center . With the strong support from the International Federation of Hardware and Housewares Association (IHA) and active cooperation with Koelnmesse GmbH, CIHS has become one of the most important shows in the world hardware industry. Delegations headed by IHA President and leaders from industrial associations of world large hardware production countries will visit CIHS'05, and warm up for the 49 th IHA Congress scheduled to be held in next year in Shanghai.

CIHS'05 sees a great gathering of more than 1,500 exhibitors, among them more than 200 overseas brands. Most of them are leading enterprises from home and abroad, including almost all the elite hardware manufacturers in China and the overseas brands that have entered or got ready to enter the Chinese market. CIHS is a platform showing the latest hardware products and technologies in China , widely reorganized as the best place for buyers from other countries to purchase Made-in-China hardware products. At present, 1,587 overseas trade visitors from 56 countries and territories have pre-registered to visit the show. Among them are buyers from leading multi-national retailers such as Home Depot, Lowe's, B&Q, Leroy Merlin and Saint-Gobain. Besides on-spot sourcing, these buyers will also host special sourcing meetings, during which million-dollar orders might be placed. More than 5,000 overseas visitors are expected to visit CIHS'05, accounting for 15% of the total visitor number.

The reason for the rapid growth of CIHS lies in the booming development of China 's hardware industry. China 's export volume in 2004 amounted to USD 24 billion, which confirmed China 's status as a large hardware exporter in the world. On the other hand, the rapid development of China 's manufacturing industry and housing industry generated a great demand for hardware products. Both domestic enterprises and overseas brands are aiming to explore overseas market or enter Chinese market through CIHS.

Now CIHS is 6 times larger than 5 years ago. CIHS has promoted the international exchange of the industry, expanded export and promoted the technological progress and product upgrade of the industry. CIHS organizers lead by China Hardware Association will continue to strive for the objective of building the mega international hardware market, strengthening the professional organization and international operation, developing CIHS into a more vigorous and booming show during the IHA 49 th Congress.

In the popular concept of “Greater Hardware”, kitchen and bathroom appliances belongs to the high end categories of hardware products, and are closely related to people's daily life. The Show also includes a Theme Show of kitchen and bathroom appliances, in which more than 100 leading kitchen and bathroom brands such as Haier, Fotile, Robam, Oulin, Vantage and Sakura will display their latest kitchen and bathroom products and technologies, including integrated kitchen equipments, range hood, gas appliances, faucet and shower cabinet.
